Bishop Residence Burns To Ground In Fire
A residence between Second and Third Streets behind Barstow Bakery burned yesterday afternoon. Firefighters could not save the frame dwelling, owned by John Sturn-Ancle and rented by Mr and Mrs C D Bishop. Mrs Bishop had left two children inside. they escaped with a neighbor’s help as the fire broke out. The blaze sparked by an oil stove, and the city votes on fire district improvements set for July 10.

Ungrateful Chap Robs Benefactor After Ride
Cahill a city builder befriended a Los Angeles man, gave him a ride and took him to a restaurant. While away, the watch left in Cahill’s auto vanished. Officer Connell found Frank Marsh, 27, of Los Angeles, who admitted the theft and pleaded guilty to petty larceny. Marsh was jailed for three months. Cahill urged leniency.

Aimee Semple McPherson identified in a Douglas Arizona hospital as the missing evangelist owned there May 18. Mrs Minnie Kennedy told her daughter of the abduction by a group calling themselves Rose and another woman.
