Bad Wreck on Santa Fe Kills Fireman and Injures Several
Passenger train No 22 eastbound derailed on a curve at Haynes siding 65 miles east of Barstow. Fireman Woods died, Engineer Drishan seriously injured but recovering, four clerks and two baggagemen injured, tramp Wim Pahland of Tropico Calif severely hurt, other passengers bruised. Train struck and destroyed baggage and mail cars, four telegraph poles toppled paralyzing line. Wrecker and relief train arrived around 4 am with doctors and nurses. inquest scheduled for Woods. Woods was a Needles resident.

Mrs Mable Forster Dead After Tuberculosis Battle
Mrs Alta Mable Forster of Pasadena daughter of Mrs MM A Fish of Barstow died at her mother’s Barstow home Monday morning after a long TB illness. She was 42 years old and a widow. She leaves a son Thomas who works as a night call boy at the round house and a sister in Pasadena. The body was shipped last Tuesday by White and Platt funeral directors.

Cut up Old Trucks For Scrap Iron Near Daggett
Old heavy trucks built by Mr. Osborne twenty years ago to haul ore from Nord mountain are being cut up for scrap iron near Daggett. E. T.
