Oil fire at Fellows capped. oil loss and production rise
The Fellows oil gusher, after burning for days, was capped at a cost exceeding $10,000 including fire extinguishing. Production now flows into tanks at 7000 barrels per day. Utah buyers acquired the Cerro Gordo mines in Inyo County, with historic Mexican and American work yielding $20,000,000 in lead and silver ore. An aerial tramway carries ore to the railroad at Keeler. Silver Lake mines prosper per J. C. Amos, who with Steve Kelly recently toured Death Valley for potash.
