EF Oakley known as Shorty mayor of Stringer district is found dead in a 20 foot shaft at The Fighting Chance claim near Red Mountain. Body discovered May 29 after weeks of search. coroner Hixon issues burial permit. Oakley, 70, lived alone in Stringer, left property to C. G. Illingeworth per alleged will.
