Bishop Creek Mine Opens New Water-Free Workings
Unwatering of the Bishop Creek gold mine is finished and stopes are being opened. A Gould pump on the 300 foot level is installed and no further water trouble is expected. The mill and cyanide plant have been improved and bullion production began last month. The Grand Mineral Company, formed by San Francisco investors, bought a large tail property near Keeler from William Van Buskirk of Lone Pine. About ten tons are shipped daily to Keeler with plans to ramp to 40 tons daily by summer. Product is moved by motor truck to Keeler and rail to San Francisco.
