C M Hoag meter inspector for Southern Sierras Power Co says extensions will come as conditions justify. Plans include a line from Oro Grande to Barstow then to Hinkley and Yermo, boosting power to ranchers. Barstow business up over 100 percent in the last year signaling strong prosperity.

Wiley, a prominent US mining engineer, plans Barstow as his base. Within 100 miles of Barstow lies vast mineral wealth surpassing Utah Colorado and Nevada. He helped promote the Inspiration property in Arizona, a $35 million venture with Morgan and Corey. Also present, Woerner of Los Angeles and Mansfield moving to Coalgardy placer for large scale work. Ben Hemps reports a rich ore wash producing $4.50 in 45 minutes.
Rumors spread of a strike at the Quartette mine in Searchlight. The earlier producing site had total output in the millions but ceased production years ago and had become a non-producer.
Atolia shows rapid activity with a new mill under construction doubling output and boosting tungsten production. The 8.8 Power Co extends lines from Randsburg to support power and lighting as about 25 company tents rise for employees and the population nearly doubles this year. Assessor George Would reports a 1915 roll of 30,230,364, up 2,613,045 from 1914, driven by land value gains and large tract holdings.
