Dedication of Boy Scout Building in Barstow
The Barstow Boy Scouts building was officially dedicated Tuesday evening with hundreds of local and visiting guests. Kiwanis Club sponsorship and community gifts funded the new clubhouse, plus contributions from out of town supporters. Scout executives plus local leaders spoke, a flag salute led by the troop, and plaques were presented to the troop. A court of honor will award badges next Friday as the group invites the public to observe weekly meetings.

New Oil Well Starts Drilling in Kramer District
Leases covering 5600 acres in the Kramer district have been taken by Warren De Priest of Whittier and associates. Drilling on a new hole northwest of the derricks is planned, with operations to begin Monday and a target depth of 3000 feet. Members State Press Association on Trip Through Mexico
The California Press Association departed Los Angeles at five p.m. for an educational tour to Mexico City aboard a Southern Pacific special train. En route they crossed into Nogales, Sonora, noting weather, exchange rates, and the first foreign city experiences, then continued to Hermosillo with a warm welcome from city officials, a visit to the State Capitol, and remarks on the region’s mining, agriculture, and industrial capacity.
