Eight Divorces Granted In Superior Court
Monday in Superior Judge Charles L. Allison's court eight divorces were granted. Walter M. Connor of Pomona sought separation from his wife of Barstow. Connor testified she kept late hours with other men. The couple wed December 28, 1925 and separated September 15, 1929. The three year old daughter was awarded to the husband. Attorney J. B. Selters of Pomona represented the plaintiff.

The Congregational church held Sunday sermons on Peter the Rock Apostle and Does the Church Appeal to Men. The San Bernardino County Christian Endeavor rally featured Secretary Brown’s address What Jesus Does for the Christian Endeavor and Barstow C E Society won a silver cup for attendance at the Redlands Rally. Barstow C E installed impressively and the Ladies Aid meet next Thursday at 2 30. Annual church meeting is set for next Wednesday at 7 30 P M.

Santa Fe Appropriates 1 490 000 for Improvements
The Santa Fe Railway allocates 1 490 000 to the Arizona division for rail laying and equipment. Plans include two new tracks at 5 500 feet each, 55 miles of 110 pound rail, and extension of passing tracks at Newberry Barstow Hinkley Muroc Kramer Mojave Wall and Rice. Additional funds cover signals switches bunk houses fences stockyard work water wells and related upgrades.

The Sylvester brothers H. E. and T. P. opened evangelistic services in a large tent at Williams and First streets last Sunday. Services begin daily at 7:30 p.m. except Monday and Saturday. The large room has been warm and comfortable and attendance is reported as very good at each meeting.
