River Crossings at Relendale and Wild Washed Out
The Mojave river swelled to its highest level since 1927 flooding Relendale, Helendale, and Wild. Lower valley areas submerged, mail routes disrupted, and locals mounted long drives to access Helendale for supplies. A snow plow crew faced deep drifts near Baldwin Lake while a cloudburst prompted rescue efforts toward Cushenbury. The piece notes local business ads and a Newleywed party amid the floods.
