Desert road plan lines up for San Bernardino paved access
The desert area would receive 125000 for a route between the summit and Needles and another 125000 for the San Bernardino to summit segment. The county road commission urges a single paved road from San Bernardino city limits to the summit, while noting the desert’s main road may get only improved sections. Supervisors are not bound to follow the recommendation.
