Congressman Kerrner announces a preliminary competitive examination to select a district midshipman for Annapolis in June 1919. Fayle Rites Held After Goodsprings Death
George A Fayle of Goodsprings Nevada died from pneumonia with influenza at age about 45. A Barstow resident years ago he ran stores in Goodsprings and Jean Nevada. Survived by wife and three children he donated a building for Red Cross. Funeral held at his home with family from Barstow attending.

The Barstow Local Board reports no further registrants will be inducted into the Marine or Navy by local boards. The president allows voluntary Navy and Marine enlistments without local-board notice and directs boards not to receive discharge notices.
