The Third District Court of Appeals validates the 1913 State automobile speed law as supreme, nullifying local speed limits. Municipalities cannot set lower limits for fines, and fines go to road purposes. Automobilists welcomed the uniform law after a Merced test case ruling.
A Los Angeles Examiner report cites a government communication from the Bureau of Forestry noting Salt Lake railroad plans to build about ninety to one hundred miles of track from San Bernardino through Cajon Pass to Daggett. The line would parallel the Santa Fe for about forty miles, open hundreds of square miles of new territory, cut travel distances to Daggett by roughly twelve miles, and cost an estimated 4 to 5 million dollars.

Five million oranges lemons and grapefruit will be displayed at the Fifth National Orange Show in San Bernardino February 17 to 24. California citrus regions plan to participate as the display grows into the state’s largest midwinter event with world prizes and elaborate citrus art. About 200 000 visitors are expected to witness the demonstrations and a pageant tracing the orange saga. The ten acre exposition will be run by leading San Bernardino figures.
