Junior Endeavors Visit Barstow Hills

Resident of Superior Valley Passes

Mrs. Ruby Pear Black of Superior Valley died suddenly reportedly of a heart attack after a noise was heard and she collapsed. Morticians White & Platt collected the remains. she was about 45, over 200 pounds, wife of James Robert Black. Burial planned in Los Angeles. daughter Nono Speaker lives there.

Traffic at California border stations in November report

During November a total of 44,681 cars and 118,875 passengers entered California across all border stations. Of those, 19,664 were out of state visiting cars. At Dagger station on highway 66 2,585 cars carried 7,424 passengers, with 1,550 foreign cars. Yerma station on highway 91 saw 4,928 cars with 13,905 passengers, 2,224 of which bore foreign plates.

Desert postmaster robbed dies from excitement

Walter Jackson 74 postmaster of Baldy Mesa and his son-in law W S Quarterman were bound and robbed at midnight Saturday. The elderly postmaster died after the incident while Quarterman and a neighbor sought help as officers and a Los Angeles inspector investigate. Baldy Mesa lies near Victorville, with the area about 20 miles west of that city.

Man Drives Auto Into Stopped Train At Amboy Crossing

From Ludlow correspondent an accident at the Amboy railroad crossing left a 45 year old man in a Model A Ford with Michigan plates badly injured after colliding head on with a freight train halted on the main track. He suffered severe facial bleeding and chest injuries from the steering wheel and was rushed to Barstow by the first train for medical aid.
