Walter Jackson 74 postmaster of Baldy Mesa and his son-in law W S Quarterman were bound and robbed at midnight Saturday. The elderly postmaster died after the incident while Quarterman and a neighbor sought help as officers and a Los Angeles inspector investigate. Baldy Mesa lies near Victorville, with the area about 20 miles west of that city.

Man Drives Auto Into Stopped Train At Amboy Crossing
From Ludlow correspondent an accident at the Amboy railroad crossing left a 45 year old man in a Model A Ford with Michigan plates badly injured after colliding head on with a freight train halted on the main track.
