Two Women Die In Barstow Auto Crash On Daggett Crossing
Sunday morning in Barstow a car traveling from Riverside to Las Vegas overturned at the Daggett crossing. Mrs Jondahl and Miss Alta Beckett died, Miss Leanore Campbell injured seriously. Dan Jondahl, husband, arrived from Las Vegas. Seagrave chemical engine ordered for Barstow fire protection, to be mounted on a Ford ton chassis with two 35 gallon tanks, cost about 900 dollars.

Brakeman Harry Dorsey Injured As Train Emergency Brake Sets
Santa Fe brakeman Harry E. Dorsey suffered probable serious injuries after being thrown from a freight car when an emergency brake activated at the head of a long train near Summit on Monday. Dorsey, known in Barstow for years of service between San Bernardino and Barstow, is in a Los Angeles company hospital. Also in San Bernardino news, 29 attended todays Kiwanis luncheon at the high school with guests from the Chamber of Commerce and local railroad officials addressing committee activities.

Government men pick Devil Canyon for nursery site
United States forestry officials recently announced Devil Canyon as the tentative site for a government forestry experiment station and nursery. The selection followed a tour and needed approval from Washington authorities. the project rests on a $30,000 appropriation to locate two reforestation nurseries and experiment stations in California. San Bernardino offered the Devil Canyon location through its water department, which owns land and watershed rights in the area.

Mexican Walks Ten Miles After Six Bullets Fired Through Him
Mexican victim Joaquin Flores and laborer Marceleno Hernandez were roadside targets in a brutal shooting by three men in a Dodge.
