Shop Crafts Benefit Dance at Barstow
A Saturday evening dance at the Grammar school auditorium in Barstow, hosted by the ladies of Barstow for shopcrafts relief, drew high praise as one of the finest events. Ice cream cake and soda were served, music by a San Bernardino orchestra, and air circulated by electricians organized by Fred Dresse. The event cleared 300 dollars after expenses, thanks to Mrs. Ryan and Mrs. Cland Stone and local merchants who donated goods and ice.

Strikebreakers Outing Ties Up Rail Work At Barstow
From Chicago two railroad officers led fourteen men toward San Bernardino but only two reached work at the Barstow foreman’s office. Seniority protections for Santa Fe mechanical workers mean the stickbreakers keep their place over July 1 entrants, prolonging the strike. Barstow hosts 60 strikebreakers of diverse backgrounds with little work produced while repair shops in Los Angeles and San Bernardino handle heavy tasks.

Obituary of Catherine Mulcahy of Daggett California
Catherine Mulcahy born in Donegal Ireland August 10 1841 died at Daggett California July 26 1922. She crossed the Atlantic by sailing vessel and settled in California in 1861 later moving to Calico in 1885. Survived by three sons Jim Maurice John Mulcahy and two daughters Mrs A G Falconer and Mrs E L Mudgett and many grandchildren. Burial at Daggett July 27 deeply mourned by neighbors and friends.
