Daggett suffers a pair of house fires on April 8. The residences of Seymour Alf and Marcus Plath were destroyed, with neighbors quick to save personal effects. Hicks Farmers Host Evening Dance in School House
Hicks residents held a Saturday night dance in the school house with a four piece orchestra from San Bernardino. Represented towns included Kinkley and Barstow though Oro Grande and Burstow draws reduced attendance. At midnight, sandwiches coffee and cake were served by Hicks ladies.

Arrest Made In Desert Warrant Case Near Water
Officers Harris Stanfield and Lu cas seized Walter Smith at a ranch near Water on warrants from Chester Illinois. Smith faces abduction charges involving Miss Ethel Bixby. Smith transported to San Bernardino, Bixby moved to county hospital after traveling by train.

Barstow Chamber Plans Meeting With Highway Comissioners

A public auction of state scrip will be held at the State Capitol in Sacramento on Monday May 2 1921 at the a m by Surveyor General W S Kingsbury. Scrip is the cheapest land scrip and sold in forty acre lots for cash or personal checks.
