Barstow Boys Defeat Needles in Openers Snappy Season Game
The Barstow base ball club opened the season against Needles on Needles grounds Sunday. Barstow, a hastily formed team, trailed early but rallied to lead 8 to 7 in the seventh inning. Needles then scored twice in the ninth to win 9 to 8 as a large, enthusiastic crowd watched. Barstow lineup included Carroll, O Hara, Bowman, Kelley, Redfield, Desnay, Conley, Daffey, and Warnick.

The Henderson and Hall residence burned Tuesday afternoon due to a gasoline stove explosion.
