Dyment Leads at Guelph Stock Sale With Twelve Short Horn Bulls
At the Provincial stock sale in Guelph N Dyment bought twelve Short horn bulls for 936 dollars. Prices ranged from 44 to 215 dollars the record price for animals under a year old. Raikes paid 50 and 6 dollars for two bulls. Lefroy’s A King paid 138 for his choice. Others included W A Jamieson Thornton and Chas Rankin Wyebridge. An accident in transit injured Raikes best bull which had to be killed. Dyment’s 315 dollar bull escaped with minor injuries.

James Ryan Dies in Barrie After Illness
James Ryan of Barrie, born in 1838 in Tipperary Ireland, died at his Worsley street home on Tuesday morning after a brief pneumonia illness. A 40 year Barrie resident and licensed carpenter, he leaves wife Sarah Agnes Brady and a large family including seven daughters and one son. Surviving daughters reside in Detroit, Barrie, Toronto, and at home. son J H Ryan lives in Toronto. He was a lifelong Roman Catholic and respected member of the community.
