George Evans eldest son of Dr J A C Evans Toronto formerly of Allandale is in khaki with the Royal Canadian Horse regt reporting for duty in Canada.
Robt. Bothwell and John Little visited. Mrs. Hamilton to spend winter in Toronto. Notices of personnel moves, resignations, and railroad operations alongside Camp Borden preparations and delayed schedules due to snow. The Penetang Tiny councils press for freight relief and mid day Penetang service to ease congestion.
Wm Standen of Minesing, still very low, with his son arriving from British Columbia on Tuesday the 6th inst. Bert Fralick of the 141st Vespra is recovering from pneumonia. Roads were drifted but ministers Thom and Berry kept their appointments. Minesing Methodist Church held a large Sunday service despite weather. Quarterly Love Feast and Sacramental Service set for 11 am at Minesing and 3 pm at Edenvale next Sunday. Official Board meets next Monday at 2 30 pm. A union service on Feb 6 featured Mrs Young on Confession led by Wm Orchard. A missions debate is planned for Feb 13 at 8 pm with Captains Alex McKinney and Wm Orchard.
A Minesing Box Social and Concert on January 31 drew a good crowd with a participant from Toronto noting a fun evening. Local hockey saw three township players plus an outsider defeat Midhurst 6 to 4. B F Tracey begins assessing duties in Vespra Township.
Barrie junior hockey team starts home and home semi final series against Kitchener. First game at Mammoth Rink on Monday night February 12 with puck drop at 8 15.
