Train collision near Kellyville kills twenty seven and injures fifty
At Tules Oklahoma on September 20, the St. Louis and San Francisco passenger train No 7 struck an empty troop train one mile southwest of Kellyville. Twenty seven people died and fifty were injured with seven be ing white and the rest Indian or black. The crash followed the passenger train crossing Polecat Creek and both locomotive crews escaped with injuries. Engineer Rule of the passenger train took the main track after seeing a second section behind and crossed the river.
