London Sept 27 The fighting yesterday afternoon and evening along the new British attack front in the Ypres sector was exceedingly severe. The Germans made four vain counterattacks in great strength while the Australians pressed the Germans near Cameron House south of Polygon Wood. Northwest of Zonnebeke heavy attacks continued as British forces held their gains and the overall situation remained unchanged.
