At Wa Chang China on September 26 more than two hundred mutinous soldiers were executed by Loyal troops without court martial after a sudden outbreak. The rest of the mutineers fled as Delong and guards reorganized the garrison to restore order.
A medicane swept over Japan on September 22 causing significant loss of life and extensive property and shipping damage. Telecommunication lines were disrupted, ships were damaged or sunk, and parts of Honshu and surrounding areas were isolated as wreckage blocked coastal routes.

New Haven Sept 2 Wesleyan scored first to tie Yale 9 9 in a hard fought game. Dyer kicked a 20 yard field goal after a long drive and Captain Racine added a 30 yard field goal. Spalding starred in the ground game as Yale failed to mount a sustained attack. Other scores list Fort McKinley over Burlington 13 0 and Lehigh beating Bethlehem 8 0.
Vermont Republicans arrange a Beverly conference with President Taft after his Altoona speech. National Chairman Hilles and Vermont leaders F. C. Williams and Philbrook join Taft for the meeting expected this afternoon.
Republican speakers including McCall Gillett and Utter from Rhode Island rode a special train into New England to answer Democratic arguments on the tariff and propel Gov. Wilson's rate.
Fire yesterday afternoon damaged the New England front store awning on North Main Street as flames spread along the cloth. A quick response by a passing firefighter prevented a larger fire, with only the iron framework and charred remnants left. The cause is believed to be a careless cigarette from a second story window. no serious injuries reported. Insurance covers the awning.
Mrs Mariama Bonadompania of Willey Street was arrested on a Grand Jury warrant for breach of the peace. arraigned in city court she pleaded not guilty. bail set at 8100 but she failed to secure it. Alleged attack at her home involved Rex, a boarder, and a broom handle with further blows. Her husband disappeared after the incident.
A barn on the Ryton Cone farm near North Knosburg burned yesterday afternoon. About 200 tons of hay were consumed and 70 to 80 cows were lost. The loss is estimated at 4000 dollars. The origin of the fire is unknown but the building was already well involved when discovered. The barn was partially insured.

The body of Dominice Nineherio, a Barre resident, was found mutilated along the Central Vermont tracks near Taylor Street in Montpelier after a train reportedly dragged the corpse for about 100 feet and became lodged in a track frog. Witnesses and authorities identified the victim as a 45-year-old immigrant staying with A. Colombo in Barre.
