Mrs Anne Hanson Taplin died at her daughter Mrs John L Wallace home 27 Franklin Street yesterday afternoon at 3. Funeral services will be held at the Wallace residence Friday afternoon at 2 o clock with Rev Job Pearten officiating. Interment will follow in the Forest View Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home.
Sixteen survivors of the Old Vermont Brigade attended a reunion in Musipelier. Ambrose A. Stiles and Curtis Abbott were noted among attendees from Bostas and Minnespolle. Regretful messages arrived from many members. Elected officers included President Capt W. Fiske and Secretary W. E Bliss.
Washington September 24 official statements said the Carranza Villa dispute will not alter U S plans to withdraw troops from Vera Cruz nor embargo on army supplies. No move date set. Wilson to let Mexicans settle differences without U S interference as long as foreigner safety is not jeopardized. Mire Dennis of Montpelier died yesterday afternoon from peritonitis after years of illness. She had been largely immobilized, using a wheel chair, and was a resident of East Conway. Her husband, four children, her mother Mrs. Orin Perkins, one sister Mrs. Mary Roby, and six brothers including Joseph Daniel Henry and William survive.
In Washington County Court the morning session closed with both cases resolved. The jury reached settlements on two separate disputes, avoiding further trial.
At the Democratic state convention in Burlington a 204 to 266 vote rejected endorsing Prouty for U S Senate and nominated Charles D Watson of St Albans for the seat.
