Fire destroyed the Harley Perkiga steam saw mill at East Pittsford with lumber yards adjoining also burned. The blaze was found about 1 o clock last evening and the cause is not definitely known though boiler origin is suspected.
Salem Mass Sept 23 A report states a fire caused extensive damage to two factories the Knapp Leather company and the Buckley company, both four story wooden structures. The blaze destroyed parts of the city with unknown cause and left significant destruction citywide.
Two reunions of Civil War veterans were held yesterday in Airattlebon. The 25th Ammunition Waitin of Co. K 6th Vermont elected officers: President David W. Lewis of Boston. vice presidents Col Thomas Hannon of Henington M L Corbett of Herwardstom Michael Spare of Greenfield and M C L Howard of Jamatean. secretary treasurer J W Hush of Brookline. The 7th annual reunion of Co Blith Vermont elected: President A P Ram Westminster vice president G S Stockwell North Adams MA secretary treasurer E F Putnam Brattleboro.
In Plainfield a local resident, Miss Krenn Page born in Plainfield in 1882, passed away after a fall. She was daughter of Ira and Bunter Page, with a brother Dane and several nieces and nephews. The funeral is planned for Thursday afternoon at the village cemetery.
A city council session reviewed near limit spending across departments, with notes of thrift and proposed cuts. An additional $300 for unknown needs and $50 for printing were discussed, along with a $45,000 school bond issue at 4 percent interest dated Oct 1 for 20 years.

In Washington county court yesterday a jury returned a verdict for the defendant in Daniel McCarthy administrator vs village of Northfield. The suit claimed the death of Arthur McCarthy at the Northfield municipal electric plant due to unsafe handling of metal. The defendant argued the decedent used a metal switch rather than the wooden handle. The next case involved A. J. Howe administrator vs Charles Selinas executor, an appeal from probate. Several named officials and residents were listed in the docket.
North Troy reports Dr. A M Butterfield seriously injured in a car accident yesterday afternoon. He was taken to Victoria hospital in Montreal. an explosion occurred as he entered the car for a consultation with Dr. W HL White, and he was thrown from the vehicle. Extent of injuries unknown.
N H Sept 28 Harry Tuttle 40 was killed when a Rochester driven auto owned by Rev Lacroix collided near Tuttle’s home. Driver Leo Maloney held for manslaughter. brothers James and Joseph Pantacon released on bail. Tuttle was walking home from work when the car attempted to pass another vehicle. He was dragged 135 feet with fatal injuries.
