The groom’s gift to best man was a diamond scarf pin. Afterward a reception followed and the couple plan to honeymoon in Hartford Conn before settling in Graniteville where the groom works with his father in the mercantile business. The bride attended Goddard Seminary and has been teaching. the groom graduated from seminary in 1914 and works in the family business. Guests included Mrs Marion Russell and Miss Marion Tucker of North Brookfield Mass and others from nearby towns.

St Albans Sept 20. After an exciting chase Chief Mahoney landed Robert J McGowan of Manchester New Hampshire in Franklin county jail on larceny charges. He allegedly stole clothing from several sources after staying at multiple boarding houses and was identified by a second hand dealer. Police pursued across railroad yards and city dump before arrest. A draft registration and money were found on him. He is 23 or 24 and said to have come from Montreal.
The annual stockholders and directors meeting was held at the railroad office near the passenger station in Depot. Directors elected: James J. Hustis of Winchester Mississippi, Harley C. Folsom of Lyndonville, William J. Hobbs of Malden, Mace W. J. Stickney of Rutland, James W. Brooks of Montpelier. Officers chosen: President James H. Mustiss, Clerk and Treasurer J. Farwell of Montpelier, Vice-President H. EK Valom. After adjournment, the directors traveled to Barre, then Montpelier to attend additional Montpelier and Wells River railroad meetings.
