An arrest in Boston yesterday connected Williams to a grand larceny charge in Orleans County Vermont. Inspectors say the fugitive from justice was located at a water service agent location and escorted to headquarters for further proceedings.
A Vermont telephren company of Albany seeks a franchise to locate and operate an ale dermen plant in Rutland city. They will erect an office building here and plan to try other cities at once, with Teed the economy's fleet franchise in Vermont.
Vergennes reports the death on September 10 of Deacon Joseph M. Baton a former well known citizen of Vergennes. Born in Waltham January 5 1848 he served in the Civil War and married Martha Myer of Bristol. He leaves a wife a son Robert and grandchildren Ray Beenie and Treweiet with many others. He was a longtime member of the Baptist church and lived on the family farm now owned by Penk Raoul.
On Sept 20 at St Johnsbury the second day of the Galdenia fair drew about 12,000 attendees. Exhibits praised as the largest in association history included strong cattle herds, Morgan horses, poultry and a vibrant fruit and vegetable display. Troops from Fort Ethan Allen paraded, and races featured notable times and records with many spectators filling the grandstand.

Mary Stewart daughter of Duncan Stewart married Charles N White on Allen street last evening. Colonel Foster of the Ninth Infantry, serving in the Philippines, was ordered to report to Major General James Warde, president of the retiring governor, to be examined. Foster, on leave in North Calais VI, graduated from the artillery academy as a second lieutenant in the Twentieth Infantry and rose to colonel by June.
After a lengthy pursuit a search for missing man Stone ends as Vernon Stone is captured by Sheriff Tracy. Stone, held on charges, was brought to the Washington County jail and placed in custody, with authorities continuing to monitor the case.
Montpelier sept 20 The Montpelier party attending the January fair did not reach home until after midnight on a special train. The Boston & Maine route between Ryegate and Wells River saw a washout and track weakness. Passengers were ordered to leave the train and cars hurriedly moved away from the weak embankment section. The incident could have been disastrous if the train had continued.
Mrs. Hough of Croton died at home on Tuesday evening aged about 84. She was devoted to her husband and family and well regarded for her kindness. Survived by husband, a daughter and several relatives, with mourners noting her generosity and home life.
