Terapto Ont September 10 Fire destroyed the Brown Mills causing $150,000 in damage. Chief Worrell died instantly as the floor collapsed trapping him beneath. Three other firefighters were injured, one critically, in the blaze at the Brown Mills complex.
A break in at Dr. C. D. Eastman’s residence in Woodsville led to missing items including a valued watch and a safe attempt in the doctor’s office. Intruders gained entry through unlocked doors and windows but fled in haste, after failing to secure larger plunder. Police noted this as one of several burglaries, marking the first time such an attack targeted a private residence locally.
The unknown man’s body was recovered in Boston Harbor last night by police. He showed two wounds on each side of the neck and a dagger blade line. Police suspect the wounds occurred before death as part of an apparent homicide. The investigation continues.
