Large Granite Contracts Reopen at Clark's Island Quarries
Bangor September 14 Commenting yesterday the Clark's Island granite quarries resumed work on a large scale with two contracts secured for two to three years. Stone for Norfolk Vaddie dock will be cut at Clark's Island and by McG Ryan Co at Stoneham Massachusetts. Another contract covers an extension of the Hartford Connecticut postoffice with a value around $700 000. About 10 to 75 cutters will be employed this fall and winter with 20 to 200 more added in spring.
