Henry C. Colton longtime head of the Colton Manufacturing Company of Montpelier died after a yearlong illness aged 90. Born in Enfield Massachusetts May 26 1800 he moved to Montpelier in 1838 and led Fisher Stratton and later Colton firms. The business employed seven men and turned over over $100000 yearly. He married Mary A Ferry of Belchertown Massachusetts in 1864 and survives four children all in Montpelier. Funeral Sunday at Green Mount Cemetery with Rev. Tucine P Reed officiating.
The funeral of Charles Ft Cross was held this afternoon at 2 from his Montpelier home with burial at Green Mount. The service, conducted by K A Bishop, featured Trinity Church selections and prayers by Rev. W. Dulehn. Pallbearers included Loren Briand and William A. ances tut Prevost. interment followed at Green Mount.
