Funeral services for Emily Violet Ruth Henry age 16 daughter of Mrs. Emily Henry of 24 Jefferson Street were held at the house Wednesday afternoon at 2 oclock Rev Crossland of the Pirot Presbyterian church officiating Many friends paid tribute and a large floral offering Six boy friends acted as bearers Howard Cole Hugh Cole Lloyd Seymour George Walker William Dobie and John MacCaskell During the service Miss Alice Walker and Miss Lena McDoutrt sang invoking hymns with Miss Spear at the piano The remains were laid to rest in Kimwood cemetery
W. F. Young, a Boston businessman, was struck on North Main street near the Whitcomb and Cook foundry while crossing with his wife. The Rambler car, owned by H. M. Farnam of Montpelier, barely avoided a collision with another vehicle. Mr. Young sustained an ankle abrasion but no serious injuries. he and Mrs. Young remained in town overnight and planned to resume their Boston trip after medical checks.
Dwight H. Cutler a well known resident of Barre died at his home 31 Jefferson street after three weeks with typhoid fever. He leaves his wife three brothers and a haltaister. He served as loan clerk for Fantler Estate Co. and was a member of Vincitin lodge K of P and First Baptist church. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 o'clock with interment in Elmwood cemetery.
Harry Mason appeared in Montpelier city court on larceny charges tied to breaking and entering the Denis Strulete pool room on Main Street. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to four to six months in the house of correction for the theft of cash, jewelry, and cheaper items totaling over eight dollars.
