Francis C. Miville, a prominent Dusloeke man from Manchester New Hampshire, died at Graves cottage Camp Overbrook Mallets Bay at 12 29 yesterday after a brief illness with acute gastroenteritis. He arrived Thursday to join his family and had been in good health until Sunday. Born in St Ann Quebec he moved to Manchester 21 years ago and ran a drug business for 41 years. A staunch Democrat active in local affairs he visited Iris town summers. Italian foreman shoots man at Essex Junction

Fatal runaway crash claims Elmer Blodah and injures wife

A late night runaway accident in Bakersfield killed Elmer Blodah, about 30, and seriously hurt his wife. Driving home, their horse bolted, turning into Mrs. Samuel Hall’s yard and throwing Blodah against an elm tree, fracturing his skull. The wife’s injuries were described as serious with exact extent unknown.

Barre School Enrollment Rises. Mathewson Leads

Barre's school enrollment reached 2457 on the first day, an increase from last fall and expected to grow by week’s end. Spaulding school reported 263 pupils, 40 more than a year ago, while beginners numbered 230 versus 316 last year. The Mathewson building, a naval academy, registered 583 pupils the Spaniding building followed with 497, most in high school.

Injured aviator Tadogorfer in Northfield hospital

The aviator Bays dorfer, of Mineola, who fell at the Dog River Valley fair in Northfield last week, is not progressing as physicians expected. Allen Adams, the injured aviator’s machinist, reports Tadogorfer suffered a telapae and lost consciousness, with bruises and lacerations from the plunge. Tadogorfer’s condition improved slightly yesterday, but he remains in severe pain. His wife was summoned to Northfield and may move to his home in New York.

Stafford Brechin Wedding at Home on Liberty Street

A home wedding was held at 31 Liberty Street last evening as Miss Elizabeth Ann Brechin wed Harry Orison Stafford. Rev. George H. Holt performed the ceremony before about 60 guests, with Lohengrin’s bridal chorus played. The couple, bridesmaids Lena Mooney and best man William Spear, exchanged vows under a bower of evergreens and hydrangeas. After a luncheon, gifts included silver and a gold puree. The couple will reside at 41 Long Street after Sept 25, with a two week honeymoon to Boston and Canada.

Mrs Marcia Emery’s Attth Birthday Celebration at Home

Mrs Marcia Emery marked her sixth? birthday with a quiet gathering at 10 Washington Street yesterday afternoon. Grass Fire on Franklin Street Burns Three Acres

A vigorous grass fire on the French estate behind Franklin Street burned over three acres of pasture and meadow land yesterday afternoon. Firefighters battled the flames for more than an hour aided by old coats blankets and shovels. Brisk north winds kept the blaze threatening nearby property though damage remained inconsequential. Several landowners own the burned area and crews built rack fires to halt spread.
