Nathan P Stevens famed inventor of locomotive cylinder packer and three phase meter, a pioneer in Concord electric lighting, died at his Center street home. Born January 7, 1836 in Barnard Vermont, he moved to New Hampshire, worked for railroads, and developed key locomotive tools before establishing Concord’s first electric plant in 1880. He and his brothers advanced industry through multiple machines and he remained active until late in life. Survived by daughter Mrs Benjamin and several relatives.
