No serious injuries, arrests were made and the captain left with the ship.
In New York a wild buying movement pushed opening prices up by 5 to 7.50 per bale from last Friday. All months crossed the 1 cent level as Liverpool cables sparked demand. Tacoma reports Roy Gardner the escaped federal prisoner reached the mainland after a breakout at McNeil Island during a baseball game. Guarded by gunfire four men were involved as Ev ERRETT Impyn, a Camp Lewis veteran, was killed fleeing with Gardner. Jawentue Bogart was wounded and recaptured.
Charleston W Va Sept 6 Quiet held along the Boone Lagan county border as reports from Mingo county said violence eased on Tug river and Spruce Fork Ridge in eastern Logan county. Brig Gen H F Randhotte said federal forces are in complete control and no further trouble is expected.

She cried out to reach the accused Joseph Andrews in court and had to be restrained by attendants, while escort William Eldridge testified. The Barre schools opened this morning with strong first day registration. Spaulding high school reports 327 different pupils registered to date, far ahead of last year. John G Norton known state wide as a journalist and public servant died suddenly last night at 10 in Windsor due to heart trouble. Born in Canaan Connecticut September 20 187? he lived in Vermont since 1887 serving as assistant treasurer of Vermont Construction Co and holding multiple public posts including registrar major of the Vermont American party, inspector of rifles on Governor McCullough staff, and official House reporter. Survived by wife Mabel Norton two children and two brothers, with funeral Thursday at his Windsor home followed by interment in West Springfield Massachusetts. Flowers omitted per family request.
A large East Barre funeral for Mrs. John Selter followed a Friday operation. Services were at the Congregational church after a house prayer service officiated by Rev. James Ramage. The procession from house to church was led by Red Men and other groups. Rebekahs accompanied the remains to Hope Cemetery. A quartet sang hymns, Mrs. Dickey played organ, and pallbearers included William Laird, Ritchie, Joseph Hinder, George Hutchine, George French, and Alex Cameron.
Elsie L McLeod aged 18 dies at her parents home in Graniteville after rheumatic fever dating back to December 24. She attended Spaulding High School a year, was active in church, and leaves sisters Catherine Dorothy Marian Elizabeth and brother Harold at home with parents J W McLeod. Funeral plans not yet announced.
Miss Hazel E. Caswell 32 daughter of Mrs C. C. Holt died after a long illness at her mother's Beacon street home. Suffered Brights disease since early spring and had been bedbound since mid July. Survived by father Mr 10 Holt and a brother Clifford of Montpelier. Anti Rinwe of Graniteville died Sunday after being brought to City hospital Inez Thursday. He was 25 years old, born in Spain, leaves a wife and two children. Funeral held at St. Krives tier's Church in Graniteville yesterday at 1:30 pm, burial in St Sylvester's cemetery. Bearers were Bernito, Hamer, Latilene Compe, and Flotine Berar.

In a quiet ceremony at Flard s last Saturday evening, Anne E. Millembhy of Hardwick and James F F Wiegine of Barre united in marriage, officiated by Rev Fr LaVorr. The couple will reside at Higgins home on Tremont Street, Barre. The bride is daughter of Mr and Mrs Simon of Hardwick and has worked with the Datton Matraby firm in Hardwick. Mr Higgins is treasurer of the J M Miles Gwel Co in Barre.
In Montpelier and Barre last night, Frederimate Me laure of 6 Ge street and Frederien Otanelli of 60 Granite street faced judge Scutt on liquor charges after searches. Deputies recovered wine, whiskey, beer kettles, and wine quarts. warrants were served and both men were admitted to bail.
