Beatrice Vanville 23 and Mice line M Chambers 19 of 142 Cambridge Street Pine were held on $100 bonds on charges of enticement and alleged men at the Highland house. A hearing on changes to the White Slave law was held, with twenty captains cited against five principals in the case.
Dr. Charles Anthony Goenanan, professor emeritus of chemistry at the Massachusetts Agricultural College, honorary director of the state agricultural experiment station, died here aged 1867. Delegates from Waterford Danville Lyndon St. Johnsbury and other towns attended a lay of the land session discussing town representation and a triangular contest. Speakers John A. Mead and Congressman Frank Plumey urged unity and personal canvassing while Hurke and Mintle offered mixed predictions on fall turnout and labor issues as Lt Governor candidate K. P. Slack pressed for harmony.

Boston's Twin Sullivan and Buffalo's Paddy Levin boxed in Buffalo last night with no decision. Sullivan scored a knockdown and dominated the tenth round before Levin was decapitated on the mat as the gong sounded, the crowd stunned by the fatal accident.

Toston September 2. More than a score candidates for Harvard football, plus several coaches and rubbers, left last night for Brealer Camps in Oceanville, Maine, for two weeks. They will work under new rules. Perry D. Houghton and principal assistant will supervise.

Survived by his wife, two sons, five daughters, and five grandchildren. burial to be in a local cemetery.
Three men were captured near the New York state border and convicted for horse theft and the escape of a wagon. Fate L H Hokten led the group to long-term imprisonment in Windsor state prison. Al Dillard won the main event in straight heats amid rain soaked track conditions that hindered fast times. Wilkes finished second. Alexander Maid took a win in the eight-runner field, with 2:18 as the best time in the lighter heat.
Thousands gathered at Middlebury fair grounds yesterday to watch a dining hall fire in the Segro department area. Charles Holden Sawyer, a well known traveling salesman and Vermont New Hampshire representative for the Valvanting Oil company, died last night at his Barre home after heart pains. He was 68, survived by son Karl, mother Mrs. Russell Sawyer of Moretown, sister Addie, brother Frank, and a funeral is set for Saturday at 1:40 pm at the Universalist church with Rev. Deena officiating. Burial will follow in Lewis Cemetery Middlesex beside his wife who died December 20, L0. Sawyer born January 5, 1852 in Middlesex spent his boyhood there and worked in Barre, later with oil firm for 15 years. He was active in the Universalist church and New England Fat Men's club and known across Vermont and New Hampshire. He had been ill for weeks after a prior heart failure.
Frances Ferrari aged 18 died after three weeks illness at Lieat h yesterday. She was the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. Ferrari of Newton Street and leaves five brothers Luigi Amelia Gi Tron Mario and one sister Ning. Burial at 2:30 Saturday afternoon at ake cemetery. The bereaved family and many friends mourn her loss.
Five month old child of Mr and Mrs Joseph Crobenti of Hertin dies during a visit at a home on Propart Avenue. Funeral services scheduled for Saturday afternoon at a local church as family mourns this cholera related death in the community.
