Death at Northfield: Carl F. Fields Succumbs to Consumption
Carl F. Fields, 28, son of Dana V and Laura A Fields, died Monday morning at his father’s Northfield home after a long illness. Born September 2, 1874 in Worcester, he lived in Northfield since infancy except for stints in Boston and the South. He worked as a clerk and cashier for FB Tovey & Co in Boston, then sought healthier work on the Pullman Car Co between Washington and Florida. He returned to Northfield in spring to await death. burial was at Center Village. He leaves his mother and a brother. The funeral occurred this afternoon at his father’s home.
