Swanton Sep 1 fire destroyed two large barns on Inmett Street near the opposite side of the street. The blaze spread quickly as wind aided the flames. Government workers and local residents assisted, but the barns and adjoining structures were consumed. Firefighters battled the blaze for hours, with several nearby properties damaged.
