Harriot Wing Shot by Benjamin Gaines in Greenfield

Pearl Street shopkeeper Peter Vale known as Chalk Line Charlie fired his revolver in the air to frighten a group of persistent youths near the Arcade building at eight o clock. Police say he did not shoot at the boys but was fined five dollars with costs after pleading guilty to breach of the peace. Vale’s weapon, a .38 revolver, was seized by Chief Faulkner.
