First Deer Hunting Fatality Reported in Maine

North Anson Me Oct 7 The first fatal accident since Maine deer hunting opened in eight counties a week ago was reported. Victim J Russell Emery of Madison a hardware and sporting goods dealer was killed while hunting at Lake Moxie on the Kino branch of the Maine Central railroad yesterday. One report says he fell and his rifle discharged another says he was mistaken for a deer.
