Yohn Pitts of this city and a Lees dealer owned and drove the automobile that struck and instantly killed Bryan, a Rutland girl, Saturday afternoon as she crossed the street with her mother near the Howe Scale. The car veered onto the curb but Blanchard, the driver, was not arrested.
The funeral of Merc William Beede who died at her home on Trow hill Thursday was held from the house at 2 oclock with Rev B G Tape presiding. A large Cobble Hill Grange delegation attended. Mr Lipsky gave remarks followed by readings and floral tributes. Burial was in Sipionet cemetery in Barre with out of town attendees including Beede of Mars and A B Beede.
Funeral rites were conducted at the home of Mr. L. A. Corcoran in Washington with Rev. Simmons officiating. Interment followed at the Washington cemetery beside relatives and friends.
The Wi ton county N. EM. P. A. holds its annual meeting in Montpelier on a Wednesday in January. Officers for the coming year are to be elected and related business will be discussed, with C A Smith leading a marketing condition briefing. Attendance is urged by section and lodge leaders.
