Telegram from Vladivostok reports the town and port ablaze with most of the place destroyed. Rioters, mainly sailors and artillerymen, hold the streets as 300 killed or wounded in the first day. Vessels crowded with refugees. Individual citizens spared so far.
News from Vladivostok leaks despite censorship and sailors aboard ships in St. Petersburg react with widespread unrest. Reports of mutiny and protests echo through the city as authorities declare martial law and pledge to restore order if needed.
In St. Petersburg on November 15 workers’ delegates move toward a general strike. They aim for an eight hour working day by revolutionary means, as authorities condemn Kronstadt mutiny sailors and martial law spreads. Employers vow to resist, making the situation critical.

New York scene aboard the Drake last night honored Prince Louis with a grand ball attended by Rear Admiral est aeeies Saree, Army and Navy officers, and prominent guests. The fire at the Delaware Machine Company and adjacent structures resulted in an estimated loss of about 150000 dollars with reports of several smaller buildings affected. Fire crews battled the flames for hours and no injuries were immediately reported. Local officials investigate the cause as hundred of neighbors watched from the street.

A delegation of leading shoe hide and leather manufacturers, backed by Governor Douglas of Massachusetts, met President Roosevelt to press Congress to remove the duty on hides and cut the sole leather duty from twenty to ten percent.

Burlington November 16 all members of the state railroad commission heard a petition from citizens for an underpass at the Rutland railroad crossing just south of Burlington Lakeside. While a few asked for a signal station most favored an underpass. Ex Congressman H H Powers spoke for the Rutland Mail road Company, R A Cooke for the Quon City Cotton company, and the city was represented by James B Burke and Aldermen Meagher and Parker. Mayor Burke testified the crossing was dangerous.

St Albans Nov 15 Franklin county bar endorsed Colonel Alfred A Hall for the vacancy on the supreme court bench caused by Judge Henry K Start's death. The meeting at the court house was attended by most practicing lawyers with Judge C N Kelton chairing. Commitees to notify Governor Bell and press Hall’s appointment were named.
The Athena club held a Domestic Science night with Mra G EB Bond presenting a German etiquette program. The menu featured items such as Kuchen and Neufehatel as guests Miao Jilin Hoar, Marguerite Stoughton, Ruth Waterman and Beatrics Kent contributed. music by Walston complemented the social.
Burlington reports a burglary at 7 Mechanic lane where the shoe repair shop of A J Moyd and the locksmith shop of Deputy Jiff Buwlin had doors forced and locks damaged. The Ladies of the Universalist church opened a three night Ice Carnival in the vestry. Decorated booths with sweets and fancy goods, a cave of mysteries, and a sleigh of prizes draw crowds. Tonight features a minstrel show and Gilbertson orchestra for the crowd. Proceeds aid church activities.

The funeral of the late Inte on Robinson was held from the ontology on Worthilteon afternoon at 2:30. A large number of friends attended the services and the flowers testified to the esteem in which he was held. Pallbearers were Fayette Cutler D. Allen F. E. Burr J. W. McDonald E. B. Arey and Kenneth Nicholson. Interment followed at Hope Cemetery.
Berlin November 15 Mrs Charles W Salinas aged 65 died after a six months illness. For some time she could not lie in bed and slept in a chair. Funeral will be from St Augustine's church Friday at 10 o clock.
Deputies Hutchinson Cunp Slayton and Constable Wilt Cutler conducted a raid at East Barre Monday night but found nothing. Slayton reported a wagon loaded with a breach of the law and a bail hearing set for tomorrow. Jennie, a housekeeper, was discharged with furnishing proofs and will face a hearing Saturday in Barre.
In Montpelier on November 16 the Supreme Court did not interpret the exceptions in State vs. David Comolli. Habeas and orders before the court did not find the writ unlawful or improper as anticipated, leaving the petition unresolved.
