Portland Maine November 6 The death of the cook and captain and the loss of crew from the Gloucester belting schooner Annie M Parker are revealed as nine survivors from the Parker are brought aboard the lumber schooner Tifton after drifting near Nantucket for a day without food. The Parker, bound for Gloucester from Sydney Nova Scotia, was driven off course by NW gales and abandoned by her crew. Tharlee Batchelder, a longtime Vermont attorney, was arrested Tuesday in White River Junction by Sheriff Kinky on charges of obtaining money under false pretenses and drawing a bad check for the Connecticut River Bank.
