Middlesex County Massachusetts claims were filed by Attorney General J W Allen alleging a conspiracy that allegedly enabled friends of Tufts to obtain a sum of $100 000 in questioned payments and related misconduct involving local officials and institutions.

Don C Pollard of Proctorsville died after a several week illness. Born April 21, 1840 in Plymouth, he moved to Proctorsville in 1863 and remained. A longtime Democrat he was a delegate to national conventions and Windsor County state senator in 1912. Survived by wife Sarah J and three sons. Funeral at Proctorsville home Saturday May 28 at 2 PM.
The Union Mutual Fire Insurance Co filed an amendment to its articles of association with the secretary of state after a hearing where Commissioner J G Brown consented to the modification. The company removed obsolete charter provisions and aligned with new statutes requiring three fourths director approval. Lyndon Literary and Biblical Institute in Lyndon amended its articles to become Lyndon Institute Inc.
Waterbury May 27. Bert Bishop veteran mail clerk in declining health after a shock at the Hotel Vermont in Burlington. The 83 year old man, living with daughter Mrs Clarence Hrush in Bolton, had earlier run hotels in Waterbury and Bolton. He served 36 years in the railway postal service from St. Albans to Boston and Burlington to White River Junction, and Springfield, Vermont, recently retired.

Leonard A Fred A, a lifelong Ver ncont resident, died after bricks fell from a chimney while it was being taken down at the Cary farm on the west hill. The accident injured the elder Leonard and his grandson Katt Leonard, who were on scene. Dr. B F Dailey attended. death occurred about 24 hours later. The Mower farm near the Thane Saturday event is noted.
Davis says the American Shipowners Association refused to subscribe to the proposed agreement on rifles and working conditions with the Marine Engineers Beneficial Association.
