Edward Douglass White, 76, veteran chief justice, died at 2 o clock a m after bladder surgery. He served on the Supreme Court for 27 years, 11 as chief, shaping major rulings on income tax, prohibition, woman suffrage, and antitrust. Woman Admits Shooting Death In Lynn Vermont

Grace A. Ramedell confessed to shooting herself and Mary Sheela in a Lynn double incident that initially read as a duel. The couple, active in Civil War service memories, church and veterans groups, have lived at the Elm Street home and remain prominent in local civic life. A public observance was held three years ago, with many attendees from the community.

Lane's Body Cremated After Death in Rochester

Franklin K. Lane former interior secretary died in Rochester Minnesota and his family arranged cremation in Chicago. The body was sent to El Capitan peak in Yosemite for scattering per his prior request. Relatives note his life in the Yosemite region and love for the area.
