Five locomotives burned in a morning blaze that swept the Boston and Maine roundhouse and machine shop at Woodsville. The fire caused total losses to the buildings and contents valued near 100000 dollars. Damage estimates include about 50000 dollars at Harrison, Me, with Woodsville cited as the scene.
Harrison Missouri May 15 Nine buildings including the village's only industries burned last night causing an estimated loss of 50000. The Whitney chair factory and nearby mill were among the affected structures as flames crossed the river threatening homes and other properties in the area. A hard fight by firefighters saved the residential district from complete destruction.
Fire destroyed the dwelling of Charles Boauldi on South Main during a blaze that damaged the nearby structures. Neighbors rescued much of the furniture, and the loss is estimated around $1,000. The building belonged to Charles Nason and was located in Frattiboro.
Reports say a fire started yesterday at a house belonging to Dennis Hren De Reeves, moved out Monday. Neighbors discovered the blaze at midnight as flames spread through gas buckets. the entire village was threatened and the building, valued at about $2,000, will not be rebuilt.

Milford mass May 15 Granite cutters from four local firms on a five week strike voted to refer all disputes for adjustment to President Duncan of the International Granite Cutters Association of America and to Mr Rec Alexander of the Granite Manufacturers Association of America. About 200 workers walked out after earning 40 cents an hour and seeking 43 cents.
