Rumford Maine May 1 A positive surge of apology from the Interne Thermal Paper mills followed by the granting of their wage demands. The Continental Paper Company plant workers quit yesterday after securing a ten percent wage increase with an extra fifteen cents per hour, causing a brief stoppage today.
Bellows Falls May 12 The International Paper plant closed after a strike by paip and sulphite workers demanding higher pay. About 50 strikers stopped work, yet 450 employees were affected as the entire mill ceased operations. The strike began at dawn.
