He leaves wife Ellen McCarthy a son M O Grandfield of Montpelier and two daughters Blanche Hoter and Florence Grandfield. Funeral is set for Wednesday at one oclock.
Vermont chapter of the Red Cross reports towns have met or exceed clothing quotas for the relief commission Regium. Montpelier expects to supply 200 pounds. One town asked to give more after meeting its quote and was advised that all gifts are acceptable.

Harold Isarkson, son of John Tanckson of 19 Pleasant Street, died at his home at 11 this forenoon after a long illness. Born in Barre in 1882, he attended graded and North Barre schools before illness forced him to leave. Funeral at 2 pm Wednesday at his home, Rev. J B Reardon officiating. Interment in Hope Cemetery.
Barre residents H Lunda and Jack Brown were arrested by Sheriff Tracy and Deputy Slayton on State’s coed Wad warrant charging adultery with Mrs. Sara Magloire of Burlington and Mrs Amelia Worl of Barre. They had recently been released on parole from the house of correction and gave permits to go to Burlington. The affair drew disapproval from Major Harvey Goodell, leading to warrants and jailings for the women. Bail was set at 100 and a hearing scheduled for Wednesday.
Washington March 26 Major General March acting chief of staff announced the War Department will publish only the names of American troops killed or wounded in France, as the best approach from all points of view.
Governor appoints Frank G Howland of Barre Mrs James Borden Estee of Montpelier and Jacob W Bates of Mjietees as trustees to locate plan and finance a new tuberculosis hospital. Trustees will oversee construction operation and maintenance with state health board approval and may receive gifts or property. State funds may cover patient care up to ten dollars per week.
Washington announces the third Liberty loan will total four billion dollars with a 4¼ percent interest rate and nonconvertible bonds. A French letter from Lille claims Mrs Matthews and children are in contact and in good health, though officials note recent illness of Mr. Matthews prior to his death in January 1917.
