A paper with door opening instructions was left behind. Police traced entry to a south side basement window and ice chute. The loss excludes a $200 safe.
John H Sprague, a long-known Brookfield resident and businessman, died yesterday at his East Brookfield home after winter illness. Born November 4, 1808 in Kirkfield, he lived much of life in Chelana and later Brookfield, where he farmed and dealt in real estate and cattle. He leaves several children and a large extended family, with a private funeral set for Saturday at 41 o'clock and interment in East Brookfield Cemetery.
