Russian representatives and prominent Bolshevik theorist Kyaronv led resignations from the Bolshevik party after a 40 to 40 vote to ratify a peace treaty with the central powers. The document calls for demobilizing the army and disarming warships while ceding territories including Poland, Livonia, Bathorie, and parts of Armenia to the Turks.
Officials in Washington believe ratification of German peace terms could trigger a Japanese advance into Siberia to secure Vladivostok and protect supplies. They caution there is little current German risk advancing east, but Vladivostok supplies could reach German hands if moved.
Marinette Wis March news follows former United States Senator Stephenson who led Wisconsin lumber and mining ventures. He built northern Michigan holdings and employed thousands, after early schooling in New Jersey and Wisconsin. He served two state terms and three in Congress, winning the 16th district seat in 1900 amid a campaign probe. The investigation found improper funds but did not unseat him.
Stockholm March 15 A number of men from America are playing an active role in the movements of the Finnish Red Guards. The commander in chief is said to be a man named Wesley who with his father fled Finland to America 17 years ago to avoid imprisonment for circulating seditious literature. He was employed for several years as an automobile plant enginee r in an American plant.
Checks were sent this week to Vermont soldiers in France for January pay totaling 16 20. Mail delays push pay 45 days behind, with January pay forwarded to assignees. February pay will follow when certificates arrive from France in April. Total checks issued to assignees to date equal 214 582 50 dollars.
J R Weeks Montpelier director of state institutions met with officials to discuss Randall meadow work at Waterbury and patient employment, with plans to move Mrs Kennerson from prison to hospital for an operation. Lanion March 15 Twenty six persons are missing after a collision between a naval vessel and the drift Rathmore bound from Holyhead to Dublin with 640 passengers. Survivors landed at Kingstown by destroyers. The Rathmore of 1460 tons, owned in Dublin, was badly damaged and tow ed to Dublin.
Brattleboro report states Frank Gondraeu, aged DW, traveled from Manchester to Wilmington to work for Deerfield River Railroad. He was found with injuries to his throat at Charles Roherge s home after an apparent drinking incident. He is expected to recover.
A smoky blaze on Waingt Street damaged a property owned by Edward Derbrerait. Fire crews arrived around 10:20 as investigators began noting the scene. The derelict structure appeared to be vacant with uncertain occupancy.
Severe aerial combat on Wednesday pitted large British air squadrons against German machines. British pilots claimed 26 enemy planes with several German losses noted including bombers and rail targets. The clash disrupted German billets and railway sidings as both sides fought fiercely.
