London dispatches report a German raider over Paris was brought down in flames and its crew captured. The Paris official statement notes many planes failed to reach targets due to intense artillery fire. Bombs rained on Paris and suburbs. several buildings were demolished or set ablaze. German losses included four airplanes in the attack. Nine squadrons took part.
London reports Cambrai has been shelled by long range artillery, with several shots from heavy calibre British guns falling on the town. The army headquarters notes ongoing bombardment as forces contest the area.
The Fore River Shipbuilding Corporation girls of Quincy Massachusetts sent Christmas boxes and a letter to Vice Admiral Sims for distribution to sailors aboard a vessel built at Fore River. The gesture, carried across the pond, sparked cheers from the crew and prompted a note of thanks to Miss Yule for Christmas wishes amid wartime strain.
A message from Consul Summers in Moscow dated March 8 says the Trussian revolutionary government plans to relocate from Moscow to a more eastern location if the German advance into Russia continues. The shift would occur if circumstances require, with government officials ready to move promptly.

The Dark and Mild Theatres staged spirited misty species performances on Saturday evenings. A letter from Sergt Ile McDerald of the Holst amUTThO Unein in France has been received. The young soldier notes preparations for wartime activities near his quarters and mentions reception of orders, with references to pay and barracks life.
An American steamship, formerly a German vessel, arrived at a French port with its bridge smashed and a hole through the smokestack after a submarine attack. The ship defended Nereelf with its guns during the engagement, then faced a storm on the voyage and reached port with great difficulty.
The Orange County Board completed the physical examinations of all registrants in class 1 and finalized their classifications.
