In Peking on March 11 brigands sacked the city of Lao Ho Kow and killed missionary Dr. Feoyland and wounded others. About 900 attackers entered by treachery, set fires, and slew, then looted arsenals and foreign properties including Asiatic Petroleum and Singer buildings and the British and American Tobacco premises.
After a seven month search detectives arrested a man in Montreal who matches Walter L. Briddle in White Plains N Y on a murder charge. The prisoner named John Moss Pullock bears a crushed left thumb distinguishing him, and his fingerprints and photo will be sent to White Plains.
San Francisco case reports Judge Dooling ruling that 35 Hindus detained on arrival must return to the Philippines. The decision holds Hindus who landed after obtaining Manila passports are aliens and deportable as potential public charges. Passports obtained in the Philippines not legal in the United States, per the court ruling.
More than a hundred men work through wreckage of the Missouri Athletic Club building seeking 20 to 36 bodies said to lie beneath. Ten bodies had been recovered by today as coroner's jury and a joint municipal committee probe the cause of the Monday morning fire.
St. Petersburg reported that Russia decided to accept the invitation from the United States to take part in the naval review at Hampton Roads in 1915, part of the Pan American canal opening celebration.

New Orleans dispatches report Ceiba Honduras was swept by a fire that destroyed twenty three city blocks and endangered others. Loss was estimated at 1,000,000 with two United Fruit Company properties one bank and several stores among the burned structures. Ceiba, a city of 7,000 inhabitants, could not assess full damage.
Oklahoma wins a key decision declaring state ownership of the river bed to the high water mark along the Arkansas river. The ruling, if not overturned by the U S Supreme Court, grants the state full title to oil and water deposits beneath navigable Oklahoma streams for the benefit of the permanent school fund controlled by the state land commission.
Senator Hollis carried in person to President Wilson the endorsement of the nomination of Thomas H. Brown of Rutland for collector of customs as Vermont’s next friend. Brown, a Democratic national committeeman, presented credentials since Vermont’s delegation is Republican.
Burlington March 11 James L Lae of Burlington was held by the state on a charge of breaking a seal on 4 Central Vermont car. He was turned over to United States Deputy Marshal Reeves on the same charge under a federal indictment.
In New Bedford Massachusetts on March 11 a cold chisel driven into a dynamite charge killed laborer Alturt Oltr feria and seriously injured his helper at a farm in Easthaven. Emergency responders transported the wounded to a local hospital. The incident is under investigation by authorities.
State Highway Commissioner C. Hates praised Franklin County's push for highway construction and maintenance at a Bayle hall meeting of town officials. About 74 attended as Gordon Gates reported. The county led the state with roughly $10,000 in funding last year, with around $30,000 spent, including $8,000 from automobile funds.
Rutland, March 11. A petition seeks disbarment of Peter F. McManus, Rutland attorney, sent to Chief Justice George M. Powers. State's Attorney B L Stafford accuses him of misappropriating about $600 in two cases, one involving a guardianship probate order. The matter is referred to Attorney General Julius E. Trown of Burlington. McManus has practiced law in Rutland for many years and is a known Democrat.
A special committee appointed to study the city manager plan for St Albans reports a favorable outlook. Mayor John E. Mann will convene the council next Saturday to receive the committee's findings and consider aligning the recommendation with the existing city charter.
In Saint Laurent near Afontrial a group of burglars robbed a huteler shop and shot two constables. Constable Hour dice was killed and Constable Guy ton fatally wounded as officers pursued the fleeing attackers. Police searched the city and suburbs for the Jour fare suspects.

Burlington boys aged 12 fourteen, Lemuel Binsh le e and 12, were arrested with cases brought to juvenile court. They allegedly broke into a major mail order company building and stole 15,000 coupons plus watches, a mesh bag, a stick pin, and a fish pole. Police traced the loot to Howard street and Hayward street locations, recovering a mesh bag and a bundle of coupons yet to be redeemed. The youths denied involvement at first but confessed after questioning.
Detectives raided five Tenderloin hotels and arrested five clerks on charges of keeping and maintaining disorderly resorts. Four were later held on bail of 144 each, while the fifth was held in 2000. Commissioner McKay declined to reveal further details on the charges or any maid connections to a demotion.

Mrs Mery Miner of Orange dies aged 96 after long illness at home of Spencer Miner in Orange. Born at Highgate she lived there most of her life. Survived by three sons and other relatives. Funeral to be held at church Friday morning with burial in local cemetery.
